An imaginary world of Futuristic Africa: where technological advances cannot destroy the strong, and precious cultural legacies passed down for generations to stay strong. Superstition and spirituality play such important roles in African culture. They believe that body-piercings help bring them closer to their gods and nature. However, in the future, a cultural revolution will make wearing body adornments easier. The practice of puncturing will disappear, replaced by a new contemporary form of body modification that will emphasize the use of safe body piercing materials and specialized tools. It will still conform to their culture without losing their roots. This idea led to “Futuristic Africa”: A body adornment collection imagining how adaptations can allow traditional African heritage can co-exist with a future world.
