Traditionally, pin-on corsage is a small bouquet worn on a woman’s dress for special events in Western culture. In Thailand, people also see it as a sign of hospitality. When special guests visit events, hosts generally give them a pin-on corsage of an orchid to show respect. So I thought, what if the pin-on corsage is integrated with other subject matter? Would that look distinctive? These questions brought about the previously mentioned experiment with the vacuum forming EVA necklace. The fusion of industrial design, of science and art, is regarded as an interesting answer to the question. So I experimented to try and make new aesthetic value by not only testing out spraying color over formed EVA corsage, but also testing it out using colored water, the manner of absorption is similar to a typical color-changing flower stem dipped in dye.
